So far I haven't ran into to many troubles posting or editing the videos the YouTube videos.
it has been very fun so far and extremely enjoyable. As of right now I have constantly been sharing all of my videos. I haven't been able to find any other websites or social media platforms to share my videos on so I am still using Reddit and Facebook. I have also found that on Reddit it is much easier to share than on Facebook and that it is much more reliable than Facebook. when using Reddit you have smaller categories and within those categories i can post my videos in there. I have also found a solution for getting a constant rate of subscribers on my channel. What i can do is find people who are either just starting YouTube or people around where I am at on YouTube and comment on their videos. A lot of times they will view your comment and see that you have similar videos and they will subscribe to you. This method has worked very well so far and has gotten me right over top of 100 subscribers. One other thing that I have also learned is that you need to find people to subscribe to you that like your videos and genuinely will watch them. If you go out and try to find subscribers that either dont have similar content or just dont even watch your videos it is very hard to get views from those subscribers. More than likely your channel will die out and its very hard to come back from that.

So far I have to say this project has been mildly successful. I have been doing alright with posting videos and I have enjoyed making the videos and the thumbnails for them. I have learned already a lot about video editing and it has been very enjoyable so far.
As of right now I am doing alright with sharing my videos through two main social media platforms. The first being Reddit, Reddit is a website used for sharing videos and finding different answers that you might have questions for. the second social media platform being Facebook and i think everybody knows what Facebook can be used for. The one thing I think I'm still having problems with would be gaining subscriber's. When someone watches your videos and sees you don't have many subscribers than they will more than likely not subscribe so I will still have to find a solution to that problem. In the last week I was trying to think of something that I would love to do while it being a reasonable genius hour project at the same time. The first thing I wanted to do was something with golfing and then I realized, its about to get really cold outside so that project was out the window. The second idea was for a project on writing and what I would do is write down every day a page or half a page or really just any length of paper on what happened in that day and I thought that was a very nice idea until I realized I don't have a mentor for that project so that idea was also out the window. My third and final Idea was YouTube, yes YouTube and everything lined up perfectly!
The hardest thing for me to do on the proposal sheet was probably finding the mentor but then the night before my mom had told me something about how one of her clients works with video editing an that's basically what my project is, its video editing! So I ended up getting her name and now she'll be my mentor for this project. One of the biggest challenges I will be facing during this genius hour project isn't the editing my videos part, or sharing and promoting. The hardest thing is just growing the YouTube channel from the bottom up! When you are just getting started on YouTube its very difficult to get your name out there on YouTube itself because there is already one billion other people doing the exact same thing you are except they are already big on YouTube, so that will more than likely be the hardest part of my genius hour project. |
